Effective 1 October 2026.
What we collect
Nothing. Wildlife Log has no account, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer never receives your sightings, your location or any information about you.
What stays on your iPhone
Each sighting you log — the animal, time, count, notes, measurements and, if you allow it, the location — is stored in the app on your device. It is included in your iPhone’s own backups like any other app data, under your control.
Location
With your permission, Wildlife Log reads your location when you log a sighting, to record where it happened. To show a place name such as a nearby town, the coordinates are sent to Apple’s geocoding service, which Apple operates under its own privacy policy. Photos you choose under “Log earlier” are read on the device for their date and location; the photo itself is not copied or sent anywhere.
Siri
If you use Siri to log a sighting, your request is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. Wildlife Log receives only the animal and count you asked for.
Exports
Export CSV creates a file only when you ask, and sends it only where you choose to share it.
Children
Wildlife Log collects no information from anyone, including children.
